Meet our lead instructor – Matt

Matt Helping first time studentIt is my great good fortune to be one of those people who truly loves what I do. Some people have a job; I feel that I am answering my calling by being a teacher.

My name is Matt Watrous, and I am a teacher. Not only am I the lead instructor for Brothers N Arms, I am a full-time high school teacher in Mattawa. As lead instructor for most of the classes taught at Brothers N Arms I am able to meet and teach numerous people in a variety of classes. One of my strengths is noticing the varied learning methods of the individual students. Your concerns regarding your competence and comfort level will be addressed so that there are no surprises when you go shooting, whether for the first time or for the hundredth time. It is my job to ensure that your class experience will be successful, safe, and, we hope, fun!

I promise that I will never talk down to a student. As a high school teacher, I have found that every question has importance to the student who is asking. I believe that when it comes to firearms and safe gun handling there are no dumb questions. It is quite common that one person’s question may actually be on the minds of others in the same class. I take great pride in my ability to de-mystify firearms and create a better understanding about safe gun-handling in general. I will address any of your concerns numerous times until you completely understand the response.

I guarantee that you will learn at least one new thing in your class or you will get your money back.

I guarantee that if you don’t feel greatly increased confidence in your ability to safely handle your firearm, you will receive a full refund.

Your safety is my mission.

Sincerely,

Matt Watrous
